Mai 1952 in Dumbarton, Schottland) ist ein britisch-US-amerikanischer Musiker (Gesang und Gitarre) schottischer Herkunft. 1975 gründete er die Post-Punk- und New-Wave-Gruppe Talking Heads mit und wurde als deren Frontmann bekannt. Seine erste, gemeinsam mit Brian Eno aufgenommene Platte My Life in the Bush of Ghosts gilt als wegweisend für die Verwendung von (damals analogem) Sampling vorwiegend traditioneller ethnischer Musik. Byrne is terrific and the performances were captivating. The unique blend of music and modern dance made for an audiovisual feast. Concert footage brought you into the performance in ways not possible if attended live. As much as I enjoyed the performances, my favorite parts were the insights into the creative process and glimpses into the performers' off-stage personalities.
