November 1959 in Los Angeles) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin und Sängerin. Currie wurde in den 1970er Jahren Sängerin der Musikgruppe The Runaways, wo sie besonders mit dem Lied Cherry Bomb Bekanntheit erlangte. Sie debütierte als Schauspielerin im Filmdrama Jeanies Clique (1980), in dem sie die Rolle der drogensüchtigen Annie, einer Freundin von Jeanie (Jodie Foster), spielte. Im Science-Fiction-Horrorfilm Der Killerparasit (1982) spielte sie an der Seite von Demi Moore. Cherie Currie's disappointing (and only) solo album was slicker and more pop-oriented than might have been expected from someone who'd just left the Runaways, even if the Runaways never were as raw and punky as some proponents of their legend claim. Instead it's rather mainstream late-'70s pop/rock, with only the slightest of occasional new wave influences. Only on "Young and Wild" does she sound too assertive, though it's not as wild and crazy as the title portends.
