Januar 1969 im Fulham Palace Cafe von Robert Fripp und Michael Giles gegründet wurde und - mit Fripp als Vordenker - in wechselnden Formationen bis heute besteht. Das Album In the Court of the Crimson King (1969) gilt als Meilenstein des Progressive Rock. Im Laufe ihres 50-jährigen Bestehens hat die Band immer wieder verschiedene, auch neu aufkommende Musikstile in ihr Musikkonzept eingearbeitet und sich gewandelt. Ihre Musik zeichnet sich durch eine große dynamische Bandbreite sowie vielfältige rhythmische Modelle aus. A curious affair, this concert. All recordings from the Eartbound tour have their own particular flavour, depending on the moods of the musicians, the mood of the audience, probably even the weather. This one sounds as if the band are at a low ebb. A sadness and inability to strike out seem to permeat the music. There is some banter, but it sounds rather hollow. Nevertheless, I like the atmosphere of this concert, and although the playing is not as fiery as on other dates, it has its own unique flavour. I woudn't want to miss this one. [color=#FF0000]1.
