Klaus Dinger (* 24. M�rz 1946; gest. 21. M�rz 2008) war ein deutscher Schlagzeuger und Gitarrist, Mitglied bei Kraftwerk, Neu! und La D�sseldorf. Er gilt als Erfinder des sogenannten Motorik-Beats. Dinger starb am 21. M�rz 2008, drei Tage vor seinem 62. Geburtstag, an Herzversagen.
Dinger war neben Ralf H�tter und Florian Schneider eines der ersten Mitglieder von Kraftwerk. 1971 gr�ndete Klaus Dinger gemeinsam mit Michael Rother, den er w�hrend seiner Zeit bei Kraftwerk kennengelernt hatte, die Gruppe Neu!. Dingers n�chste Band, die sein erfolgreichstes Projekt nach Neu! wurde, war La D�sseldorf. Dingers erste Solo-LP erschien 1992 unter dem Titel �Die Engel des Herrn�. Nach �Die Engel des Herrn� und �Hippie Punks� war La! Neu? ein weiteres seiner sp�teren Projekte.

Japandorf is a 2013 album by Klaus Dinger and several other musicians, released under the name "Klaus Dinger + Japandorf" by Gr�nland Records. It was recorded in the year before Dinger's death on Good Friday 2008 and is the only one of three albums made since 1998 to have been released. It was originally intended to be released as a La D�sseldorf album, but this was blocked at the last minute by Hans Lampe, the band's original drummer.
�Sketch No. 4� is another guitar and drum jam between Dinger and Onouchi, starting on one painfully distorted chord, from which it does not progress for the first three minutes. It is a rhythmic thrashing, a baptism of fire. Dinger is just so angry: if you were ever going to headbang to a Dinger track this would be it. We then move onto a two chord format, which feels much less punishing by comparison. Finally, in the closing moments of the jam, the guitar breaks into the most rapturously beautiful four chord motif, releasing all the energy which has built up over the previous nine minutes. This is a climax rivalled only by the twenty minute version of �America� presented on �Blue�, and like that song it quite literally sends shivers down your spine. It�s the kind of climax which makes you want to kick doors down or destroy a hotel room. It�s the real stuff, the eye watering distillation of sixty years of rock'n'roll in ten minutes.
