Die Band hatte zahlreiche Mitglieder und bis zu seinem Tod war Froese die einzige Konstante. In den 60er und 70ern spielte die Band minimalistische, sehr experimentelle elektronische Instrumentalmusik. Ende der 70er veränderte sich die Stilrichtung mehr in sequenzerlastige, düstere Elektronik. Ab 2000 wurde die Musik kommerzieller und ging sogar in Richtung discothekentauglicher Dance Elektronikmusik. Sorcerer (1977) is the ninth major release and first soundtrack album by the German band Tangerine Dream. It is the soundtrack for the film Sorcerer. It reached No.25 on the UK Albums Chart in a 7-week run, to become Tangerine Dream's third highest-charting album in the UK.
