The original Fantastic Four line-up featured Wallace 'Toby' Childs, James Epps, and brothers Joseph and Ralph Pruitt. After a brief period at Motown they were signed to Westbound where they released five albums in the 1970's. The Fantastic Four were typical of many other soul/R&B vocal groups of the 1970s, combining sweet soul harmonies with some socially relevant lyrics. I'd describe their sound as a blend of the O'Jays and the Dramatics. In other words, dynamite stuff! Solid vocals, melodies, and words. Anyone with an appreciation for "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" ought to add this to your collection!
