Dub meets dreamy blues, hypnotic grooves, jazz piano and driving funk brass. Flavours of traditional Azmari singing, 70s reggae and Ethio-pop infuse one of the most alluring and soulful genres of African music. The group is the vision of Nick Page - aka Dubulah - composer, guitarist, bass player and programmer extraordinaire, formerly founding member/bedrock of Trans-Global Underground and Temple of Sound, and is an ongoing , fluid collaboration with some of Ethiopia's brightest musicians. Addis To Omega is the fourth album from the award winning Dub Colossus collective. Addis To Omega features a whole new group of singers and players. The emphasis is more on presenting a 21st century version of Jamaican roots reggae, with wonderful jazzy and dubby touches throughout. Repeated listens have only made me want to hear more. All praises should go to producer/musician Dubulah (Nick Page) for masterminding such an addicting Ja. combo platter.
