Progressiverock

Kansas ist eine amerikanische Rockband, die 1972 im US-Staat Kansas aus einer Vereinigung der Musikergruppen White Clover und Proto-Kaw hervorging. 
Sie gilt als Begr�nder der Stilrichtung des amerikanischen Progressive Rock. Der Song Dust in the Wind (aus dem 77er-Album Point of Know Return) wurde zum Evergreen und Carry On Wayward Son z�hlt noch heute zu den meistgespielten Titeln im amerikanischen Classic Rock Radio. Die dazugeh�rigen Alben, Point of Know Return und Leftoverture, erhielten mehrfach Platin. Insgesamt verkaufte die Band mehr als 15 Millionen Platten. Ihre fr�hen sowie die neueren Kompositionen integrieren klassische Elemente und Instrumente (z. B. Robbie Steinhardts virtuos gespielte Geige).

This compilation is frankly a gargantuan collection of songs that are demanding enough on a track-by-track basis, let alone as part of a 42-song anthology. However, forever subverting, KANSAS have made a typical ‘best of’ a curiously enjoyable exercise in getting back to the band’s roots. By starting at the top of the tree, and exploring every branch and tendril the band sprouted along the way, Another Fork In The Road is an etymology of prog presented through the lens of one of its most unique acts.
