[quote]Danny Boy ist ein vor allem im angels�chsischen Sprachraum sehr bekanntes Lied, in dem es um den Abschied von einem geliebten Menschen und dessen Wiederkehr geht. Die urspr�ngliche Melodie hatte vermutlich der blinde Harfenspieler Rory Dall O’Cahan im sp�ten 16. oder fr�hen 17. Jahrhundert komponiert. In den 1850er-Jahren wurde diese Melodie von Jane Ross transkribiert und unter dem Namen A Londonderry Air publiziert. Der Anwalt Fred Weatherly schrieb im Jahr 1910 einen Text dazu.
