Steven John Wilson (* 3. November 1967 in Kingston upon Thames, London) ist ein britischer Musiker. Wilson spielt diverse Instrumente und ist als erlernter Produzent, Tontechniker, Gitarrist und Keyboarder ausgewiesener Autodidakt.
Am besten bekannt als Gr�nder, S�nger, Gitarrist und Songwriter der Progressive-Rock-Band Porcupine Tree.
Neben Porcupine Tree und seiner Solokarriere ist Wilson Teil vieler weiterer musikalischer Projekte; u. a. besch�ftigt sich Steven Wilson mit elektronischer Musik und Field-Recording. Wenn man Genre-Bezeichnungen f�r die Projekte nennen sollte, w�ren es eventuell: Artrock (No-Man, Blackfield, I.E.M., Steven Wilson), Ambient/Drone (Bass Communion, Continuum, Steven Wilson), New Age (No-Man).

The Harmony Codex is the seventh studio album by British musician Steven Wilson.
It contains an incredible synthesis of lots of elements and styles of music that have been present from early PT through the solo albums, No-Man, Bass Communion, IEM, etc etc. But � the danger with that statement is that it might make it sound thrown together which it most definitely is not. Instead, it’s more like a painting where the artist has made careful decisions about which colours and brush strokes will best create the picture he wants his audience to see.
The Harmony Codex is an enormous and adventurous sonic journey that you are invited to join. On the voyage you’ll hear from a lot of musicians, different voices, and many different sounds and textures. In many places it won’t be what you’re expecting, but repeated plays will allow you to get deeper into the overall sound and concept. It’s an album that stands up to, and indeed demands, repeated listenings.
