Januar 1976 in New Jersey) ist eine US-amerikanische Sängerin und Songwriterin, deren Musik Southern Rock, Soul, Rootsmusik und Blues mischt. Sie ist auch als Schauspielerin tätig. Als jüngstes von sechs Kindern wurde Fuchs im US-Bundesstaat New Jersey geboren und wuchs in Wildwood, Florida auf. Fuchs’ raue Stimme führte zu Vergleichen mit Janis Joplin, und sie verkörperte Joplin auch in dem Musical Love, Janis, das von 2001 bis 2003 lief. 2007 spielte sie die Sadie in dem Filmmusical Across the Universe. Ferocious rock, blues, and soul belter Dana Fuchs tunnels deep into the Southern Rock music of her rural Florida childhood on her release Borrowed Time. “Double Down On Wrong.” The track is a fierce riff rocker that speaks to the political figures who have brought division and dissonance to so many of our daily lives. Fuchs unleashes that mighty voice of hers and snaps your neck directly to attention just like when you heard Robert Plant for the first time. “Hard Road” is a loose, Stones-influenced song. “Nothing You Own” is another highly-soulful slow/mid-tempo song initially inspired by the stories of slum residents in Cape Town, South Africa.
