Five Star (also 5 Star) are a black British pop group, formed in 1983 and comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris and Delroy Pearson. Between 1985 and 1988, Five Star had four Top 20 albums and 15 Top 40 singles in the UK. The five-piece group of siblings from Romford were masterminded by their father and manager, Buster Pearson, in the style of The Jackson 5. He was a former recording artist and session musician who had worked with Wilson Pickett and had set up Tent Records Ltd in 1982.

Rock the World is the fourth album by the British pop group Five Star. Rock the World was Five Star's last full length CD on the RCA label. It was definitely their coming of age CD. The music was more aggressive, and so was the image. The group adopted a new image for the release of the album, mimicking the leather-clad look from Michael Jackson's "Bad", released the previous year. From the leather clad look they sported on the cover and in the videos for 'Another Weekend' and 'Rock My World,' they had grown up from the kids who wrote those matching '5 Star' outfits years earlier (and remember Deniece with that huge blond wig?) It was too bad that this CD wasn't embraced by the public like their previous efforts because it was their most mature effort musically. With the rise of hip-hop and rock in the late 80s, Five Star's dance influenced pop & b was declining in sales. Please listen at this CD because it was lost in the shuffling of the music climate in the late 80s. I still think they are one of the most underrated groups ever, and so is this CD.
