The band was formed in Stafford, England, in 1967 by vocalist and harmonica player Colin Cooper (1939-2008), guitarist and vocalist Pete Haycock (1951-2013), guitarist Derek Holt (b. 1949), bassist and keyboardist Richard Jones (b. 1949), drummer George Newsome (b. 1947), and keyboardist Arthur Wood (1929-2005).[ This is is relatively unknown recording by Climax Blues Band but deserved a listen.Great musicianship as always but they play in a small club in their hometown so the intimate setting and local crowd (quite considerate, by the way) are conducive to the musicianship. This LP/CD is well recorded and the acoustics lend a more intimate feel to what most Climax fans know and love about the group.A Keeper, and I personally am quite pleased to find the re-release of this particular disc to be a welcome suprise since it was initially put out on record thru an somewhat obscure label previously.Sax included! No this is not an "Unplugged" recording even tho it is live....
