LA Blues Authority Volume II - Glenn Hughes Blues (1992)[/color]
The album was produced under the moniker of the L.A. Blues Authority, a blues project that featured many musicians playing original blues tracks and covers. This is the only album under that name which featured only original material performed by one singer. This was Hughes’ first solo album to be released after he kicked his drug habits in 1991 and found his ‘higher power’. He hadn’t released an album under his own name since 1977’s Play Me Out. This marked a beginning of a highly productive period in Hughes’ life that still continues. The album was recorded in three weeks and Hughes’ claims the themes in the record deal with his personal demons of the time.
Guest guitarists include former Europe player John Norum (who had produced the album Face The Truth which featured Hughes on a number of tracks earlier in 1992), Mick Mars of M�tley Cr�e, Warren DeMartini of Ratt and Richie Kotzen of Poison, Mr. Big and Mark Kendall of Great White fame.

This guy can sing the blues! Mostly original music amazing vocals, great songs. Glenn Hughes great voice of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath with some pretty good guitar players. Europe player John Norum , Mick Mars of M�tley Cr�e, Warren DeMartini of Ratt and Richie Kotzen of Poison, Mr. Big and Mark Kendall of Great White fame. No gold record, most people have never heard of this album. I always wondered how do you combine Deep Purple with Motley Crue, Ratt, Europe and Great White yet nobody ever heard it??? Amazing!

"Hats Off To Stevie Ray" is a tribute to one of the all time electric blues guitar greats, Stevie Ray Vaughan. Legendary performers Leslie West, Pat Travers, Rick Derringer, Frank Marino, Ricky Medlocke, Steve Hunter, Jon Butcher plus Craig Erickson, Kevin Russell and Tony Spinner perform smoking renditions of songs popularized by the late Texas blues guitarist! Steve Hunter delivers a classic instrumental ("Lenny"), while the closing instrumental, "Blues For Stevie", features several guitarists, including Russell, Travers, Hunter, Derringer, Mike Varney and Michael Onesko. Brad Russell plays the bass, while Aynsley Dunbar and Andy Doerschuk pay drums on this blues blazer.

"Fit For A. King" is a tribute to one of the all time great blues guitar masters, Mr. Albert King. Legendary performers Leslie West, Pat Travers, Rick Derringer, Frank Marino, Ricky Medlocke, Steve Hunter, Jon Butcher plus Craig Erickson, Kevin Russell and Tony Spinner play in homage to A. King on this eleven song collection! Steve Hunter delivers a smokin' instrumental ("Night Stomp"), while the closing instrumental, "Albert's Jam", features several guitarists, including Russell, Travers, Derringer and Michael Onesko. On "Cream Of The Crop", some of rock's premier guitar players and singers pay tribute to one of the greatest blues/rock guitar bands of all time - the Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker trio known as Cream. Performers include Pat Travers, Michael Lee Firkins, Richie Kotzen, Jeff Watson, Rick Derringer, Glenn Hughes, Eric Gales, Neal Schon, Tim Bogert, Leslie West, Joe Lynn Turner, Glenn Hughes and more! Firkins is in command of the lone instrumental, a scorching version of "Cat's Squirrel, with Little John Chrisley on harmonica.
