John Zorn: American saxophonist and composer, born 2 September 1953 in New York City, USA. He owns the Tzadik record label and has worked with a large number of experimental musicians, particularly in improvised music, modern classical music and jazz, though he has produced music in most styles. As a child, he played piano, guitar and flute.

Bill Laswell begann seine musikalische Laufbahn als Bassist in Funk-Bands (Material). Nach seiner �bersiedlung nach New York war er bald auch als Produzent mit K�nstlern wie Brian Eno und David Byrne an der Entwicklung des Ambient und mit Herbie Hancock an der Verbindung des Jazz mit Hip-Hop und elektronischer Musik beteiligt. Er gr�ndete mit Sonny Sharrock, Peter Br�tzmann und Ronald Shannon Jackson die Free-Jazz-Band Last Exit und entwickelte seine eigene, stark von indischer Musik beeinflusste Form der Worldmusic, wobei der heutzutage als der profilierteste Tabla-Spieler geltende Zakir Hussain �ber Jahrzehnte sein musikalischer Wegbegleiter wurde. Sein Bassspiel ist vor allem von Dub und Funk gepr�gt.

David Chaim Smith: Writer, Kabbalistic and Alchemical Cartography and Texts
Texts and drawings are original works by David Chaim Smith for the book entitled "The Awakening Ground", compiled from material done on retreat in 2012-1014 in Brooklyn, NY

The whole musical concept derives from his texts and images, so its "field day" for both musicians to indulge in their well known musical composition talents and emerge as a perfectly balanced team.
John Zorn is given full space to take matters into his hands and explode freely, for real, his wind-works virtuosity and from scratch he builds up to high eerie altitudes.
Bill Laswell (sadly missing in PA) is, as everybody knows, highly creative, always proposing new musical directions and unobtrusive when needed. Yet always there with his astounding Bass guitars and Atmospheres to play along with the crooning voice and the delirious Sax player in this project.
As far as the music goes, I can assure to most or not that "average" prog-audiophiles, that this drone like mass will leave you enlightened in some very "Dark" and novel ways, without playing the quiet cliched "Devil" worshipping music, which as far as me, has become a repetitive joke.
