Oktober 1934 in Berlin) ist ein deutscher Musiker von Experimental-, Ambient- und Elektronikmusik. Er ist bekannt vor allem als Mitbegründer der Krautrock-Bands Cluster und Harmonia sowie für sein Mitwirken an dem Ambient-Jazz-Trio Aquarello. 1968 begründete er mit dem Konzeptkünstler Conrad Schnitzler den Untergrundclub Zodiak Free Arts Lab, das Zentrum der damaligen Berliner Szene. Dort traf er auf Dieter Moebius und die drei gründeten die Formation Kluster. Schnitzler verließ Kluster 1971 und startete eine lange Solo-Karriere. Roedelius und Moebius anglisierten den Bandnamen zu Cluster, vertieften ihren Stil. Ab 1973 arbeiteten sie erstmals mit dem Neu!-Gitarristen Michael Rother unter dem Namen Harmonia zusammen. Klaviermusik This album is a welcome addition into the art of penning achingly beautiful, melodies on every album they have made with each other, or when they go it alone and perform solo. On this occasion they have left the electronic instruments at home! This album is all piano and is as you would expect from this pair- perfectly played! 11 tracks here, and one of their best releases up to now, how long Roedelius will continue to record is up to him, he is 87 but shows no sign of giving up yet. His music archive is enormous after over 50 years of musical activity and it keeps on growing!
