The group's greatest fame came during the early 1970s. The group was formed at Hyde Park High School in Chicago in the late 1950s as the Chanteurs (Eugene Record, Robert "Squirrel" Lester, and Clarence Johnson). They later teamed up with Marshall Thompson and Creadel "Red" Jones of the Desideros to form the Hi-lites. Noting that the name Hi-lites was already in use, and wishing to add a tribute to their home town of Chicago, they changed their name to "The Chi-Lites" in 1964. I Like Your Lovin' (Do You Like Mine?) is the second studio album by American soul group The Chi-Lites. Although the album is always categorized in discographies as an original release, it contains only three new tracks, the remaining seven being recycled from the group's 1969 debut album Give It Away. "Are You My Woman? (Tell Me So)", a moderate hit at the time of its original single release, has since become one of the group's best-known tracks after its horn riff was sampled heavily on Beyoncé's 2003 global bestseller "Crazy in Love". I Like Your Lovin' (Do You Like Mine) certainly isn't a bad record -- the best songs from the first album are right here, buttressed by two more hit singles by a group that started slowly but had really started cooking by 1970.
