Januar 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey; eigentlich Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt) ist ein US-amerikanischer Rock- und Heavy-Metal-Gitarrist, Sänger und Pianist. 1987 wurde Zakk Wylde im Alter von 20 Jahren in die Band von Ozzy Osbourne aufgenommen. Er ersetzte damit Jake E. Lee, den Nachfolger von Randy Rhoads. Wylde gründete unter anderem zwei eigene Formationen: Pride & Glory, die kompositorisch stark vom Southern Rock geprägt war, sowie Black Label Society, bei der unter anderem Black-Sabbath-Einflüsse zu hören sind. Diese Gruppe ist sein momentan noch aktives Soloprojekt. Book of Shadows II is the second solo album by American musician Zakk Wylde. Like its predecessor, this date relies heavily on strummed acoustic guitars, Hammond B-3, simple basslines, shuffling drum parts, and open melodies derived from country-rock and Americana. The mood is relatively somber. Book of Shadows II is not only equal to its predecessor, but due Wylde's growth as a lyricist and singer, it is superior. Should he ever wish to retire the stadium rock guitar heroics, Wylde could easily establish a career as a fine singer/songwriter.
