Mai 1929 in Fort Scott, Kansas, USA; † 29. November 1999 in Lelystad, Niederlande) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger und Komponist. Bekanntheit erlangte er insbesondere durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Jimi Hendrix. Der Gitarrist war unter dem Namen Jimmy Hendrix von Oktober 1965 bis Mai 1966 ein Teil der Band Curtis Knight & The Squires und spielte dabei zahlreiche Aufnahmen ein. Recorded between the making of Are You Experienced and Axis Bold as Love, this isn't exactly essential listening, but still interesting to any Hendrix fans to hear him playing in a studio in a slightly different set up to the Experience. When Hendrix signed up with Chas Chandler in the UK, Hendrix seemed to forget that he was already signed to Ed Chaplin in the US. After coming to the US to play at Monterey and subsequently tour with the Monkees, he hooked up with and agreed a jam session with Curtis Knight with whom he had been working with prior to the Experience. The session was supervised by Ed Chaplin.
