Musikalisch vereint sie Hard Rock, Heavy Metal und Funk. Bekannt wurde Ugly Kid Joe einem breiteren Publikum in Deutschland hauptsächlich durch die Hit-Singles Everything About You und Cat’s in the Cradle, einer Coverversion des Songs von Harry Chapin. Rad Wings of Destiny is the fifth album by the American rock band Ugly Kid Joe. Tom Cornell of CGCM Rock Radio wrote that "Showing perhaps more subtlety than all those years ago, but still maintaining the fun and silliness in small doses, they still know how to rock and entertain." ‘Long Road’ closes the album with hope and charisma, a song which truly puts me in a great mood and remembering the album with fondness. This is a song which puts a big smile on your face and makes you look all suspicious… Back with the producer of their debut album 30 (yes, thirty) years ago, the band sound fresh and vibrant on this album, and I wasn’t quite expecting that. They have a big, full-bellied sound which is hard to ignore and fastens itself onto your cerebral cortex.
