Early experience singing gospel gave her a powerful but expressive voice likened to that of Aretha Franklin. She remains a popular live performer, mainly in southern states of the US, without having found the recording success of her earlier years. I am beyond impressed with the voice and emotive power of Singer, Shirely Brown on her CD: 'Unleashed'. She is absolutely amazing and at her age, she can easliy outsing any singer out there today! She is simply amazing with a voice that is clear, strong and versatile, PLUS She is one Soulful Woman! My favorite tracks are: 'Upside Down', 'Let Me Relax You' & 'When I Hear Your Name'.
