1. LP
Solid release from Berlin. At the time, the New Wave scene was just taking off, with bands like The Psychedelic Furs and artists like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode not having contributed to the scene yet. As a result, this is more Synthpop-oriented, even perhaps Krautrock-esque and less developed as a New Wave release.
Many of the songs on this have a robotic tonality to the vocals, and repetition on the synth lines heavily reminiscent of Kraftwerk. Some songs like “Middle Class Suicide” and “Talk Talk Video” have a tinge of carnival to them, whereas songs like “Information” and “City Lights” have a darker and more serious undertone to them.
