A New York native, she began her professional career in the mid-1970s and is most known for singles such as "This Time I'll Be Sweeter", "Angel of the Night", and "I Try". Her career spanned over four decades. Let Me Be the One is the sixth studio album by American R&B singer Angela Bofill. Produced by the System, who introduced a more overt dance sound into her work. Bofill didn't do as many ballads and struck a more animated tone in her vocals. This strategy wasn't immediately successful, but did eventually produce some hits. Heavy synth driven but also some ballads combined with the beautiful soulful voice of Ms.Bofill makes this album really diversified.
