King, Angela Bofill and Roberta Flack. Guthrie is well known for her 1986 anthem "Ain't Nothin' Goin' on But the Rent", and for her 1986 cover of the song "(They Long to Be) Close to You". While vocally Gwen Guthrie was in league of her own, musically she was somewhere between Quiet Storm of Anita Baker and Post-disco/House of say Shannon. "Hot Times" is very good album, in fact it's one of her best, but there are few dreadful songs like, too syrupy "I'll Give My Best To You" (for some people it might be perfect "wedding song") or "Feel Good". With better producers under her belt she could go and top the charts. [color=#FF0000]Is There A Spark?
